Wind Cave is not a great motorcycle ride, at least compared with other local routes, but is an interesting side trip.

I couldn’t tour the caves because the elevators were broken, but according to the ranger this is the 3rd largest cave system in the U.S. and the only one that “breathes”. This means that wind doesn’t come in through 1 entrance and leave by another. The entire system either “exhales” or “inhales” through all openings simultaneously. This is due to the barometric differential between the cave system and the atmosphere.
