Tail of the Dragon is legendary, and for good reason. 318 curves in 11 miles. A map, and the dragon sculpture made with salvaged bike parts…
This was the last big ride of my trip, so I rode Tail of the Dragon 2 round trips and I got faster each time. The first trip I got caught (and passed) by sports cars and a sport bike, and I was on my brakes a lot. By the last trip (at sunset) I had improved to only use the brakes 4 times and nobody caught up. It Was A BLAST!!
I saw this at the scenic overlook and had to stop to check it out. It’s an actual plane fuselage on a truck frame.
